Script Works Ltd Web Development

web development process

Over the last five years we have been involved with a large number of varied custom web scripting projects. Regardless of the size and complexity they all fall into a very similar web development process.

Ball park
We prefer to avoid providing ball park cost figures based on a concept, but recognise that sometimes an end user does not have a clear brief and needs to get an understanding of ball park costs before investing further in the scoping and build phases.
We usually provide ball park costs as a range, starting from what would be the most simple functional system, up to something with more of the bells and whistles!

Scoping
Based on a brief created by our client and/or the end client, we create a full and complete technical scope, detailing all of the functionality required of the web application. As this is a critical and sometimes time consuming point in the process, we may quote a cost for developing the scope. A finished scope may include full wire frame diagrams of every functional page in the web application. We also determine the data structure at this point.

Because we write such complete scopes, essentially completely designing the web application, we are able to provide fixed price quotes for the project at this time.

Build
From our scope with any amendments, we proceed to build the web application. This may be integrated into a design by our client, or into an existing end users website.

Implementation
Once built we implement the application on the server of our clients choice, and test.

Review
We encourage clients to use an application immediately, even if that means loading dummy data. It is our aim to see the project completed and any changes or additions completed quickly after implementation.
